Customer Journey - Sending Through Shipping Notifications
As part of the customer journey, retailers have the option of sending shipping notifications to their customer with tracking information directly from MyDakis or Job Downloader.
1) Sending notifications from MyDakis Shopping Cart Tab
In the Shopping Cart tab of the MyDakis, click on the delivery truck under the custom state drop down.
This brings you to another page where you can select a shipping method from the drop down list. The list includes all the shipping modes for which we currently automatically generate tracking links. If your shipping method is not in the drop down list, simply choose custom.
For a supported shipipng method, you simply need to add the tracking number to the proper field, chekc the send email when saving checkbox and also select the language you want to send the template in.
In the case of a custom shipping method, you will also need to enter the tracking URL if you want to offer that feature to your consumers.
If you 'reclick' on the truck icon for an order for which a notification was already sent, the tracking number will be pre populated already. This is a good way to recuperate that information.
Another way to see what orders have shipped is to use the new notification center where you can quickly see the most recent notification sent through about an order:
2) Sending shipping notifications from the Job Downloader.
In the Job Downloader, start by selecting the printing order for which you want to send a notification. (You can also multi select orders by using shift click or ctrl click like in any other windows application.)
Then click on SHIPPING CONFIGURATION in the top ribbon. This is represented by the icon of a truck.
You can then add a tracking number and select a carrier from the drop down for your single or multiple printing orders selected. (A barcode scanner works wonders for this if you already have your labels printed)
When you hit SAVE a confirmation about sending out an email will be asked for each printing order, simply click yes or no if you are ready to send the notifications.
You'll also notice you can see a list of all notifications sent to the customer in the SENT NOTIF of the right hand pane where the job ticket normally is. This information is synchronized with the MyDakis Notification Center so your lab staff and retail staff can all be on the same page!

3) The confirmation email
The tracking link will be accessible in the shipping notification email under the TRACK YOUR ORDER BUTTON. The initially setup email is very generic so it can work for all retailers and it includes your logo at the top.
